The Proverbs 31 Project: Our thought life

Before we delve into The Proverbs 31 Woman, it's important that we understand that our thoughts about ourselves have great power. The Bible reads in Proverbs 27:  For as he thinks in his heart, so is he . At times, I have read the description of the Proverbs 31 Woman and because of my own thoughts of myself, I could not imagine myself as such a woman.

Its important that we examine our own thoughts and that they line up with what God says. Some of us may have heard negative things being said of us like, “ You will never be anything”. “ You're fat” “ You're dumb/stupid”. “You're ugly”. “ You're just like your daddy/ mother”. It's horrible the things some parents speak into their children. Proverbs 18:15 says that Death and life are in the power of the tongue . Words have power. The enemy knows that. This is why he targets children by speaking death into them. Infancy and the beginning of a thing is very fertile ground. It's where the birthing process is. This may be a child, a young marriage, a new business, or a vision. If the enemy can come in at this birthing stage, his goal is to destroy the promise. Don't let him!

There is GOOD NEWS! We have Jesus and the promises of God. Additionally, we are wise to the enemy old tired out tactics. Revelation 12:11 says that we have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony. What it out testimony? Whatever the Word says!

Concerning our thoughts, we must begin to replace the lies of enemy about us with better thoughts.:
  • Philippians 4:8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind andwinsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
  • 2 Corinthians 10:4 , 5 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

My homework assignment for you today is to delve into the Word and discover what God says about you. Here are a few scriptures to get you started.:

The Proverbs 31 Project - (Purpose)

I began to revisit the Proverbs 31 view of characteristics of a godly woman. In my younger days, I read the passage and was intimidated of the woman in the passage seemed to portray. I wonder how all those things she is said to do was as possible and how on earth did she have time for herself, her interest, hopes, dreams etc. There was so much I did not understand. Years have know gone by from my first introduction to this text. I have experience life. God has used those experiences , Divine connections, church family, and God's Word to mold me into who I am today.

A recent experience, has cause me to revisit this passage. Now, I guess you could say, I'm doing a maintenance check up. Now as a more mature woman, I understand that I can only be whom God has uniquely called me to be. However, Provers 31 is still a great reference yielding principles for us all.

During this maintenance check up of mine, I began to read the passage. It the same passage I have read so many times over the years. Now, it has new meaning to me. First, I truly see myself in the passage. Additionally, I see some areas which led me to inquire of the Lord to help me further develop. The Holy Spirit and I began strategizing , repositioning my life, and current goals. Soon , it became apparent I was lead to this passage because God was preparing an developing something in me. I will have to share specifically what those things are when God gives me permission. One thing I have learned is that somethings are between you and God until the appointed to time to reveal to others.

The second thing that came of me revisiting the Proverbs 31 passage is a heart for other women that may be reading this passage. The passage is intended for instruction, encouragement, and empowerment. However, as I began to read each line of the passage...line upon line.. percept upon percept, I could literally voices of women reading this passage for the first time. It's like the Holy Ghost gave me access to their hearts, more specifically their fears and insecurities. It suddenly became apparent that how we as women view ourselves directly impacts how we see ourselves in the Proverbs 31 passage.

This post is the first of The Proverbs 31 Project inspired by the Holy Spirit designed to take God's precious daughters on a journey of discovery. Trust me, we will be on this journey together. I will blogging here. Soon, we expand this topic to discussions on my coming BlogRadio program. Additionally, I am working on an e-magazine to be launched later this year that will give God's precious daughters freedom to grow and become all He has predestined us to be. You are not alone. And you can become all that He created you to be. Nothing, not any mistakes, can cancel out God's love and assignment for your life. You are capable, intelligent, virtuous in God's eyes! Begin to see yourself as God does!

I love you my #kingdomSisters!

Connections while reaching toward the Mark

Part of reaching to become who God has called you to become is to discern the season you are currently in. With each level that I am ushered into, there is a shift in the connections in my life. I used to become alarmed, upset , & take personally when people left my life. At times, I even found myself holding onto a relationships after they no longer served any purpose in my life. I confess, I held on to a relationship for 5yrs that was dead long before I finally walked away.

Dearhearts, we have to be be wise and really seek God. The Bible tells was in all our getting , get understanding (Prov 4:7) The more we are aware that we have a unique purpose, we will understand that not everyone can go with us – no matter how bad we want them to or they want to. If you have people like that in your like, I understand it maybe had to let them go. But, the stakes of you reaching your destiny are too high for you to not to let them go. This has been hard lesson for me because I care for people so much. Additionally, I used to let the devil pay the loyalty card on me. Loyalty is so important to me. So, I would feel guilty for ending what was already dead. Don't let the devil play you! Like Eve in the garden entertaining the serpent in conversation( see my Twitter TL for that), we spend too much  time letting the serpent whisper in our ear. You know when God has spoken to you about a thing. It does no one any service to linger out a dead thing. In fact, it hurt everyone more in the long run.

It's been a process , but I have also learned how to embrace and desire that which is before me more than holding onto the past just because it's familiar and comfortable. For each new level in my life, it requires me to become more and more like Abraham... step out by faith, forgetting what is behind, and the expectations of others. My desire to God and hear Him call me the good & faithful servant... is stronger than you needing me to hold on to a dead relationship. Have you ever considered that the person, could grow more without you? Meaning,  sometimes we become crutches for folk without realizing it. That's why they beg us to hold on so much. But if you sstep out of the way, focus of your destiny, & let the Holy Ghost finally have His way in their lives! Now Wow! That's a whole another sermon. :)

I welcome the true Divine connections that God has placed in my life to further His purpose for His Kingdom. Dearhearts, we just need to keep the right focus. Our decisions must be Kingdom Minded. So, they must line up with the purpose God has given you. For exmaple, if you are saving to buy home, you decisions must align with that goal. So, we can agree that eating out regularly takes way from your goal. Anything that does not align with you goal, destiny, etc is pulling you away from it. We have entered into the season where it is no longer acceptable to be pulled in many different ways just to satisfy everyone else. For those of you like me, I have to be delivered from pleasing people. I still love people, though when you get delivered, not everyone will understand. Some will give you guilt trips. However, you stay focused with your eyes on the mark of your High Calling.

Recently, I have had some wonderful Divine connections that, through my experience of them, my hunger for God and reaching for all Has of me to do has grown. Your connections should stir you inside, challenge you, stretch you,  increase you, and more. These are also like minded people. You speak the same language.   I have learned to place great value and guard diligently reaching toward the mark that God has given me & those Divine connections. I do not apologize for this process and nor should you.

Love you much!

Growing  faith by faith...level by level...  glory to glory together in Christ

Nikki

Your fruit is coming!

This  entire blog is about starting over, having the faith to begin a new ,ultimately reaching forward once again to your destiny.  My  journey has brought me to a place where I guard reaching toward that mark with all diligence. I also regconize  the Divine connections that God has placed in my life at each level of victory.  And with each level there are new devils.  Yes, you win in the end. But, there will be a battle.  Make no mistake.  The battle with be with others not understanding your destiny,  spiritual  & demonic attacks, & within your own mind. I have experienced it all.  Fighting for your destiny... the closer you get...will be the fight of your life.  At least, it has been for me.  Pain births much.  Embrace it. Push through it. And grow. Use this time to become all God need to become to fulfill your destiny for the Kingdom. There is a people that  is waiting for what God has placed inside of you. For me, it's  hurting people. Who are you called too? This is your  season  to discover, grow, & birth.

You shall win and bring forth much fruit! Stay focused.  Keep your mind stayed on the Word of God and Jesus Himself!  Greater is He that  in you than He that is in the world. Declare that you shall reach your goal in God ordained since the beginning of time.

Stay In The Ring

As everyone knows, I'm a sports fan. Today, I was thinking about my life currently and the metaphor of boxing came to mind. I'm partial to some of the great boxers I grew up with Like Joe Frazier, Mohammed Ali, Sugar Ray, Alexander Holyfield, and Mike Tyson.

The last three years my life has been in transition. The recession hit and God put it in my heart to reposition myself for the next level in my life. I went back to school to complete my Bachelors degree I started so many years ago.  God directed me to move across the county.  I entered graduate school.    All new beginnings, which is what I blog about.

The years have been filled with excitement, but also filled with plenty of hard work.  I've watch God do the impossible in so many areas of my life. I pinch myself at times. I'm in awe of just how great God is.  God can transform anything and anyone! I’m a living witness.  And the truth is that God is not done with me yet! Praise Him!  This journey has taken much faith and hard work on my part.  The result is living glory to glory, level to level, & manifestation.  Yes, faith and hard work. I keep stressing this because I believe we often miss it by not understand that Faith without works is dead. (James 2). Faith moves mountains, but God requires His wisdom, our hard work, and practical knowledge when applicable.

Looking over my life, I have to admit, I didn't get into my forties without having to fight for some things along the way. I’m sure you can relate.  I also remember being knocked out a few times, BUT getting back up again. The key is to keep fighting. Stay in the game.

Just recently, I have to admit, I feel like another heavy weight named Goliath is in the ring kicking my tail.  But my faith and the Word of God tell me who I am. I have made a quality decision to press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:12).  Therefore, quitting is not an option, even when tempted to do so.

Dearhearts, it’s so crucial to remain focused just before victory. Often, this is when we are vulnerable the most.  We get tired of fight and waiting on God.  Recently, I’ve seen some big smoke screens by the enemy. Things that are designed by the enemy to catch you off guard. But, I have learned to just #StayInTheRing

If you #StayInTheRing , you will reap your harvest.  If you #StayInTheRing, victory will be yours! If you #StayInTheRing your Goliaths will come down!

Just keep fighting! Stand on God's Word. Speak God’s Word by faith. Dispatch your angels!  Yes, you will get tired. But, faint not! The Joy of the Lord is your strength.  If you #StayInTheRing that mountain will be removed!

Dearhearts, your harvest time is near! Don't let the devil or circumstances trick you out of your harvest! You've come too far! #StayInTheRing

The Sleeping Church

Revelations 3:1-6

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

After recent events, I find myself growing less tolerant and angrier about two things: 1) ignorance and 2) slumber.  Disclaimer: continue to read at your own risk.  This blog is not similar to most other blogs where I encourage you to do your best. I believe in encouragement.  Yet, there is a season for every thing.

According to   Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;s3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;s6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;s7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Currently, it is time to sound the alarm!  It has been way past time, but some of us are still sleeping.   As a nation, we slept through two decades of greed that led us to the current global economic crisis.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFfTcAcGjcU   As Church, we continue to sleep while issues like New York becoming the 6th state to legalize gay marriage are now reality.  http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/06/25/earlyshow/saturday/main20074349.shtml    We are called to have dominion over this earth?  But where is the evidence?

Additionally, Proverbs 13:22, states that A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children.  When I was raising my son, at a certain age, we watched the news as a family. I did not shelter him. He was going to be in the world soon enough and it was my job to train him on how to Biblically approach issues.  So, we would watch the news, discuss the event, and intercede.

What this practice is a young man who is not ignorant to the issues of the day and armed with the ability to call on Jesus. What happened to the intercessors on the Wall? I am calling you out to rise up once more again!

As a child, I remember studying current events in school and discussion at home around the dinner table.  Tell me why we have nation of people who can’t discuss issues for lack of knowledge and understanding?   If I hear  one more well meaning Christians tell me they don’t know what is going on because they, “don’t watch the news”, I’m gonna scream!!!  How else are you going to WATCH & pray.  Yes, we are to watch in the spirit. But, we cannot afford to be ignorant in the natural as well.  There are numerous scriptures that warn against God’s people being ignorant and lacking of knowledge.

Dearhearts, let me help you dispel a myth.  Seeking earthly knowledge is NOT a sin.  Just don’t exalt it above God’s wisdom. We seek natural knowledge all the time.  For example, we in enroll in college to earn a degree. Knowledge in beneficial to position ourselves to fulfill what God has assigned to us.

Band-Aids

Here’s a valuable lesson, I recently learned.  Many times, we are face with life issues that may invoke various emotions.  One may feel stress, pain, loss, emptiness, etc. We are program in our society, I seem to slap a Band-Aid on the emotion and keep walk.

I grew up in a home where there was never a discussion on feelings. Feelings were irrelevant. You just kept moving on.  The positive to that is that in a crisis, I am able to push through, make sound decisions, and accomplish the task at hand.  But on the opposite end, it’s easy to image dysfunction such an environment can produce. This is why in my adult home, we discuss and share feelings appropriately according to God’s Word.   Additionally,  society,  tells us to  take a drink ,  pop a pill, eat a piece of cake, buy an outfit,  purchase a  fancy car,  sleep with that man… anything to dumb the pain or  escape the issue at hand..

However, true happiness and freedom comes when we realize that Band-Aids are only temporary fixes.  They were never designed to bring healing. This is why we find ourselves quickly feeling the same low after sleeping with the woman or purchasing the dress. Band-Aids don’t work! They are counter-productive. In fact, they are destructive.

Dear hearts, there is no substitute for God!  Only God can heal better than any attempt from a  Band-Aid.  Give your pain to God. Trust him to make you whole again.

Using Band-Aids to cover up your pain only prolongs your process. Trust God to comfort and take care of you.  No more hiding out under Band-Aids.  It’s time to break forth in the Name of Jesus! Let the butterfly out of the cocoon and soar high toward your destiny.  God has need of you and an assignment that He predestined for only you to do!

With love,

Nikki

I Continue to Believe in Dreams Come True

Those of you who have been reading my blogs for awhile know that my topics are about starting over and grabing hold of the life, purpose, & destiny that God has for you. Your Process

Today on Twitter, I read a tweet that said, “It is possible for someone to be a Christian &___" The answer is yes! We forget Christians are humans who deal with. But, the GOOD NEWS is that, we can be delivered with God’s help.

Just because one struggles, doesn't make them unChristian. Where did we get that from, Church? I bind up the lie from the pit of Hell that says Christians are perfect and don’t’ struggle!! This only keeps more people in bondage. Let begin to set people free for real by telling the truth: Christians struggle, they go through, they get attacked, they sin, the make bad choices, etc. The Good news is that because of our relationship which God, we can go to our Heavenly Father and be made whole.

This is not a post condoning sin or saying it’s ok to sin. Bu reality is that sin does exist and people are deceived and partake in. So, my heart is to share that the All Knowing All powerful can still heal and deliver when you fall and thought you wouldn’t or when you come to Christ and are still dealing with issues. We all fall short and need God. Only God is perfect and equipped to deal with our mess. God is in the wholeness and healing business.

God love us and ask us to come as we are. Then, He touches our sin. Some Christian has it twisted. They want people to be clean, and then accept Jesus OR when they accept Jesus to should stop everything all at once.

Walking out one's salvation is a process. God saves us & then the Holy Ghost address our live as when pursue Him more. This is done on God's time table. He is our Creator and the Potter. As Christians, we must learn to love our brother or sister in Christ while God is transforming him. This is what being a part of God’s family is all about. Get a revelation, Church!

Just it's easy as it is to forget our own humble beginnings in the natural, we can often for our beginnings in the spiritual. We did not start as the spiritual giants we perceive ourselves to be. We all started as babes. Additionally, God had brought us through our own mess. So, be compassionate and patience with others, as God was and still is with you. God is an immediate, straightway, suddenly God. But many times, He chooses to change us by a process. Allow others go through their own process.

If you find yourself in a process, don't fret. God loves you and is truly invested in your victory and coming testimony! Additionally, God is faithful, capable, and qualified to complete what He started in you. So, exhale and cut yourself some slack even if others won’t.

Begin to see yourself as God sees you. See what He created you to be. Give God praise in advance for the manifestation as you seek Him for your wholeness, only part of your birthright. See yourself as the Royal Priesthood King/Queen in Christ Jesus that you are. Have faith in God that He will do and complete what He said. And ignore those who only point your faults without offering to be apart of your transformation in God.

Hang in there! God is not done with you yet. Look at David! I praise God for your full victory and you walking into you destiny! In Jesus Name

Ps.

Please feel free to share your praise report.

You sister in Christ,

Nikki

God Has the Last Word

A friend shared with me his testimony to today. It was a story I knew all to well. I had experience it myself. And I thought of countless others who could relate. It made me think of David in the Bible. People always ask me, “Who’s you favorite person in the Bible?” or “Who do you relate to most? “. I know that God has called me to an Esther. But, David is dear to me. The Story of David is a remarkable tale of God’s love toward us.

God called David a man after God's own heart & yet there are times we read the Bible where He sinned. Like many of us, David was called to do great things for God, but He sinned.
David committed adultery with Bathsheba. He also put Uriah at the front of the battle in war so that Uriah would die and he would be able to marry Bathsheba.

Sometimes we loose or way... we forget who we are... our purpose...and fall in to traps of the enemy. God hates the sin, but NEVER stops loving you!!! If we are not careful, we will condemn ourselves. And let satan (the accuser of the brethren) torment us. Don't listen 2 that liar! The devil is the father of all lies! God hasn't given up on you not one bit!!! He will love you through your process

Just as God used David, God can still use you! It is never too late. You're not too old to be used by God. We all have a purpose. And as long as breath exists in your body, there is purpose to be still fulfilled. There is a people that only you can touch. Your pain, and yes even your mistakes, are all part of the process for you becoming the person God has design you to be. God had a plan for you, when you were in your mother’s womb. Your mistake cannot cancel that out.

It is not over till God says it's over. Don't beat yourself up. Repent. Align yourself back to God's will. And watch God restore. Goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.
God is truly a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Saul became Paul. Abram became Abraham (father of many nations). Sarai (who sinned in the Garden of Eden) became Sarah (Mother of Many nations). What is your new name? How does God see you? Seek God and find out. God specializes in transformations!!! Let him transform you.

With all God’s love,

Nikki

Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Though time and society changes, God and your own worth stay the same

After my divorce, I made the decision to not date. I prayed, “Father, put me on a shelf and take me off only when you see fit.” I did not want to be a serial dater, that’s not my thing. My desire was to be in a place in Christ where when that set time came and God brought me my Boaz, / Adam, I would be discerning enough to choose correctly.

Several years went by, during that time my focus on growing in God and raising my son. Only recently, I have begun my re-experience with dating. There is an education that one receives when not having dating in a while. 15 years + later, society and its values have changed drastically.

Though time and society changes, God and your own worth stay the same. I want to encourage those who are dating to trust God. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. The more time you spend with God, the more you learn about His character. God is faithful, dependable, loving, patience, wise, a provider, forgiving, merciful, and more. The list goes on. God is awesome! There is no one like Him! It’s from those traits that you look for in a mate. Being a very new Christian when I first married, I did not give myself time to as they say “finishing backing in the oven first.” Preparations is so key in life. We prepare for everything else, but often fail to plan for dating, relationships, or marriage. Take time to know God for yourself and let Him also reveal to you who you are. A Woman or man who know who they are in Christ , their true worth, and their destiny makes wiser choices in every area of their life; including choosing a life-long mate.

As we get older, the enemy attempts to tricks us into settling hoping to detour us form our purpose and destiny. As I said in my introduction on this blog, this blog is about heart felt truth and encouragement. I am a Christian woman who loves God and desires to please God. However, just as satan can whisper in my ear to settle, he can whisper in yours too.

You may find yourself in a situation where you have let satan whisper in your ear too long and now find you have settled for “Mr. Right Now”, instead of waiting on “Mr. God’s Best”. No condemnation. I have done the same. Lesson learned. Dust yourself and keep moving.

We have to be wiling to let go of a dead thing, to receive what God has for us. Some of us had heard that still small voice saying, "Let that man go". But, we hold on for fear of being alone. Be obedient and let go of the “Mr. Right Now” who you know is not right for you. Instead, trust God and watch Him send “Mr. God’s Best” in due season.

Don't believe lies from the pit of hell that say you're too old; it’s never going happen, and so forth. God does not see you that way and your “Mr. God’s Best” will not either! Trust that God is has saved someone tailored made just for you. Trust that what God has for you is exceedingly above all you can ask or think. That's just how our Daddy Abba Father does it. Isn’t God awesome? ! Don't let a man not worthy of your greatness take up the space for where you coming Boaz/ Adam should be. In the meantime, seek God & become all that God has created you to be. Be Whole. Be secure. Be prepared.

XOXOXOXOX,

Nikki

First Quaterter in grad school

Hello everyone,

I have blogged since December. I apologize. In December, I started graduate school fulltime. It's been a wonderful and challenging adventure. I just completed my first quarter with great success.

As I look back, I remember how nervous I was to begin the journey of graduate school. I blog and share from my heart what God speaks to me. But graduate school involves a lot of academic writing. It's nothing like staring fear in the face and saying to it, "bring it on". I have done that all my life and graduate school was not going to intimidate me.

Well, I just completed my first quarter and received an "A" in one course and a "B" in the other course. I have a 3.5 GPA. All I can say is "HA HA HA HA" to fear and to God be the glory! Additionally, I have received noticed that I am now eligible to apply for my university's $3,000 scholarship.

MOTTO: NEVER LET FEAR HOLD YOU BACK
